7 miles.........check.

Unfortunately, I turned 30 years old on Wednesday. Can't say I ever look forward to getting older. It was pretty much like a regular day. I worked, worked out, and then Jenni and I went to eat. Mom, Mark, Maureen, Travis, and Dave Jennings each gave me a call during the day which was nice. To commemorate my birthday, I decided to run farther than I ever have before. My previous best was a 10k on the treadmill earlier this year. I went down to the river, started at the Lewis & Clark welcome center, and ran to South Dakota and back. My goal was to run at least 7 miles. I set the ipod to run a 10k, which I knew was 6.2 miles, and off I went. I ran 12 kilometers to make sure I went at least 7 miles. 7.5 miles to be exact. I also have run 300 miles overall since I got the ipod this past fall. I never thought I would stick with it. I hate running, but it really feels great when you are done. Running that far isn't something I would do every day, but you have to test yourself ever once in awhile, especially when you get a year older. Next on the board is to start swimming and biking. I have to compete against my three sisters in a triathlon in September. They each are going to do a leg of the triathlon and I am doing the whole thing. 1 vs 3 isn't very good odds, especially when Mary competes regularly. I definitely have my work cut out for me.

I'm getting geared up for the 5th annual Le Tour de Iowa golf tournament in Des Moines next week. It is always a great time. There will be stories and photos posted on that subject later. It will also be my first official day of vacation in over a year. Definitely looking forward to that.

I'm not sure I could even run around the block so great job!!! Have fun on the LeTour, remember, it's not how hard you swing (Matt). Jesper those short putts and enjoy your vacation (one of my favorite words ever). Happy birthday again, you are officially old.
