This past weekend I went to Cedar Falls for the annual costume golf outing. It started a few years back when a bunch of us got together for Jon Spooner's bachelor party. A few of the guys that went golfing that day dressed up and started a revolution. From that point on, it has turned into a 3 (or more) person best ball tournament where everyone dresses up. There are no prizes for the golf scores. You don't even have to keep track if you don't want to. Its just about dressing up and having fun. A lot of the people don't even golf. Every year it has grown larger and larger. This year there were over 115 participants. The tournament has also turned into a charity fund raiser for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Derrick Henry got his company, Grainger, to triple-match whatever we could come up with. I think the grand total came to almost $10,000 dollars. I think that is pretty awesome for a bunch if drunken idiots dressed up in costumes in May. Here a just a few pictures from the event.

Team Elvis: Dr. Ben Winecoff, Mike Galles, Nate Riordan.
I have played with Ben and Nate every year.

Thank ya, thank ya very much.

The tournament ended with a water fight between Burt and Spooner. It started with Burt throwing his beer cooler water on Jon. Spooner then threw his cooler water on Burt. Burt then pushed Spooner into a bunker full of water. Spooner then filled Burt's golf bag with water. Burt then power bombed Spooner, WWE style, into the bunker. Burt then stripped and washed himself off in said bunker. Nice.
As always it was a good time. It's also nice to catch up with a lot of my friends that I don't see very often.
